RECALL: Already have a big park

| April 13, 2012 9:00 PM

I have some questions for current council members and mayor that are surprised at the recall effort. Isn’t there a huge park in downtown Coeur d’Alene already? How does another park generate more revenue? Who says, “Hey, let’s go to the park and spend some money?” Why would you move boat launch parking a 1/4 mile from launch? Wouldn’t that make launching a boat more time consuming and decrease the launch’s usefulness? Why can’t the council just save up the money they need for their “vision” of Coeur d’Alene?

My biggest question is when such a polarizing issue like the proposed new park is not allowed to go to a public vote, why would these folks be surprised at the recall effort? I for one applaud it. A little accountability never hurt anybody.
