DEMOCRATS: It's caucus time 4/14

| April 11, 2012 10:00 PM

Saturday April 14 at 10 a.m. at the Harding Family Center, the Kootenai County Democrats will be holding their caucus. Much ado was made of the Republicans’ caucuses; turnout was good and several venues were needed to accommodate the crowds.

Ours will be quite a contrast: we expect about 150 people. It will also be a contrast because we are holding an OPEN caucus: In other words, we invite all people of goodwill, of any party or non-party, who have not participated in a prior caucus this year. If you will be eligible to vote in November, and are willing, at least for the purpose of the caucus, to pledge that you are a Democrat and will either support President Obama or remain uncommitted, you can participate in the election of delegates to the Idaho State Democratic Convention in June and help develop the party platform. If you are fed up with the Republican majority in this state with their disenfranchising of voters through their closed primary, their repeated violations of trust through questionable ethical practices, and their war against women and freedom of choice, join us. We stand up for the civil rights and human rights for everyone. Please join us at our caucus: You are welcome.
