EASTER: The Son also rises

| April 8, 2012 9:00 PM

Most all people want to think that their life on Earth is important. Important to them; important to others; important to family and friends.

During our 70 years average life span, no matter when it begins, it is always shaped by history’s events during the time which we are alive. My life began in 1944 and the events during my life span helped shape my attitudes, beliefs and my viewpoints. Oh how important we come to think we are in this world!

Easter is here. No event in the history of the world, since the beginning of time, has been more important. Jesus Christ, the resurrected Savior of entire mankind, is the reason why man has hope each day. Jesus Christ’s own words said “I lay down my life, that I might take it again. No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again.” What a wonderful friend the world has in Jesus Christ.

Those of us who know Him are humbled by His living power in our feeble lives. Those who do not know Him, there is hope that before your final breath is taken on Earth, that you too will accept His love for your very own. I am writing this letter with love and concern, not condemnation and self-centeredness. Once, I too was counted as “lost” but for more than 40 years I have belonged to Jesus Christ and for 40 years He has given me the peace I sought so long ago.

The blood which Jesus Christ shed on Calvary some 2,000 years ago is the same blood I, and many others, make claim to. We grab hold of it, cling to it and declare ownership of it. What a marvelous plan God has offered up to mankind. So to all readers I would like to say, “Happy Easter.” Enjoy all of the great things that Easter means to you and your family. And remember, those who follow “The Great Shepherd” know that He is Risen and Lives Forever.
