DRIVING: Be good example
Debbie’s challenge: I would like us all to really consider doing this. I see these infractions going on in our little town way too often. It’s getting ridiculous and we all need to be the example.
1. Stop running red lights!
2. Stop blocking the entrances/exits so people are able to enter and exit as the law says, “Do not block them.” And what’s your point? To me you look like a jerk. Just saying.
3. People in crosswalks have the right of way and people walking in parking lots especially when the weather is bad should get to go first. Since you’re sitting in your vehicle warm and dry, have some compassion already. Geez.
4. When you pull out in front of me and go 15 when the speed limit is 35 and you continue on in this manner, expect me to flash my lights, honk and pass you in the middle lane. I do not brake to slow down for ignorance. I will run into you if you pull out in front of me. After all I could use a new car. This is the biggest problem and it’s ignorant of anyone who does it, and you do not know who you are pulling out in front of? Better hope it’s not me. Just saying.
5. If you see a person who is down and out, which there are plenty, let’s give them a helping hand. Give them a hand up; it doesn’t have to be a handout.
If we each do this I know Coeur d’Alene will become a much safer place to walk, ride and drive in.
Challenge on…
