RECALL: Taking back the city

| April 6, 2012 9:00 PM

In regard to the effort to recall four of the Coeur d’Alene City Council members, the community will little note nor long remember what we say here, but it will never forget what we did here. We are in the process of taking back our city and will soon replace four members of the City Council who have not lived up to our expectations as representing the community. It is up to us, the people to keep the checks and balances within the city government so as to have a more fair approach to city activities.

We understand that in their minds, they think they have done the right thing in running city affairs, but they all need to take a hard look at how they have pushed the public out of the decision-making process. With the changes we have proposed in the recall, we will make the city stronger and no citizen will be left out. We live in a democracy and we all have a stake in the future of this great community. Whatever the outcome, we can all feel comfortable knowing we have all had a chance to speak out and have our concerns heard. The future looks bright and when the community finally retains a voice on future projects we can all feel comfortable knowing we have done all we can to have a community we can all be proud of.
