Marijuana group to hold meeting

| September 29, 2011 9:00 PM

COEUR d'ALENE - An advocacy group for medicinal marijuana is holding a meeting of its own.

Recently established local chapters, Moms for Marijuana and Compassionate Idaho!, are asking for anyone interested in legalizing medical pot to show up for a brainstorming session during their inaugural meetings.

Orenda Peterson, who is spearheading the meeting for the groups, said they are looking to register people to vote as well as those who will collect signatures for the Medical Choice Act, which with enough signatures will put medical marijuana on the ballot to vote on in 2012.

The meetings will be Friday, at a time to be determined, at Calypsos Coffee, 116 E. Lakeside Ave. in downtown Coeur d'Alene.
