LIBRARY: Good thing confounded
The new computers at Pinehurst Public Library were cool when they first came in couple/three months ago. Yeah - they were logical and user-friendly too. From the START page you'd click onto Internet Explorer and WOW! - by gosh, by golly, wiz bang - up pops a page that has a number of icons of the Internet to click onto like Google, YouTube, Facebook, eBay. Nice. Wish I had that at home.
Then, like so often, government had to fix it. Now every time you click onto Internet Explorer you go to the Pinehurst library Web page. Yeah - you are stuck there unless you know how to get out.
I try to teach people how to use computers that are fearful of its complications. Sure was easier with the old software. But, like the last tax hike, it was promised to be just temporary.
