SUGAR: Gets bad rap again and again

| September 25, 2011 10:00 PM

There seems to be a disinformation program out in the world concerning sugar and it appears Mr. Judd Jones has fallen victim to it and is unknowingly propagating this lie. His article titled, "How sugary sweet are you?" is an example of this.

In fact, the culprit is High Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS). This highly subsidized corn by-product is one of the main culprits in America's obesity problem along with other very harmful sweetening agents such as aspartame. HFCS is used in just about every processed food and drink there is today and a quick label check of any product will reveal this fact. It is a highly addictive cheap alternative to the real thing.

Rarely do you see "sugar" listed as a sweetener. And if it is used by chance, usually the food company will market it on the front of their product like it is some new thing.

So Mr. Jones, please check your facts before publishing misleading information about sugar because what we really need to address in today's food market is the highly addictive, highly concentrated sweetener, highly government subsidized product called High Fructose Corn Syrup which is extremely detrimental to our bodies' metabolic health.
