BEARS: Grizzly questions posed
It seems that grizzly bear is getting a lot of press lately. I have some questions about all of this.
If the young man in Bonners Ferry was justified in killing the young bear to protect his family, why did he have to pay a fine? Sounds like a plea bargain to me. Perhaps the bear was not really a danger after all. I don't know.
Regarding the mauling and death of the hunter. If there was a question as to what kind of bear he had his sights on, why did he shoot in the first place? Perhaps he didn't really care as long as he killed a bear. Turned out to be a big mistake. Maybe, taking another moment to think it through would have saved his life.
Oh well, another endangered animal off the list. Now we have our wonderful representatives trying to change the Endangered Species Act instead of getting people jobs and reducing the National Debt.
Just a thought?
