Terry A. Ehrmantraut 'Ernie Trout,' 56
Terry A. Ehrmantraut "Ernie Trout," 56, sailed away on Sept. 16, 2011. Terry was born in Billings, Mont., on Nov. 10, 1954, to Leo and Harriet (Frappier) Ehrmantraut. His family moved to Coeur d'Alene in 1956.
He joined the Marines in 1973, after attending Coeur d'Alene High School. After his tour of active duty, Terry returned to Coeur d'Alene where he married Starlene Rae Drapeau in 1975, they were married for 23 years. Terry also attended North Idaho College where he received two associate degrees.
He worked at a variety of jobs but he was proudest for his achievements as an engineer at General Instruments in the computer products division and his karaoke show "Live Jukebox." He had a brilliant mind and was an expert craftsman and self-taught inventor from whom many people and industries benefited. We are very happy he was able to complete and sail his last creation.
Terry is survived by his mother and stepfather Harriet and Ike Lucas; brothers Harlen and Roger Ehrmantraut; daughter Amie Ehrmantraut; twins Chad Ehrmantraut and Lisa "Elle" Hatfield; grandchildren Madison and Owen Clancy, and Riley, Aidan and Evan Ehrmantraut; and numerous nieces and nephews including Ryan Drapeau whom Terry was very close too. Also, his beloved friend, Harpo.
He is preceded in death by his father, Leo Ehrmantraut and brothers Jim and Wesley Ehrmantraut.
A celebration of Terry's life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, 2011, at 3045 Fruitland Lane in Coeur d'Alene.
He was a kind, gentle, loving, patient and caring man who will be missed dearly and loved always. Rest in peace Daddy and Pappa T.
