JOBS: Your job is to help, Raul

| September 18, 2011 10:00 PM

Congressman Labrador: In response to your newsletter on "The American Jobs Solution," you fail to inform that it is your job to make the laws, pass the laws and solve the people's problems. (We learned this in government in high school.) The president can only sign the laws passed by the Senate and Congress, use veto power if available, or write an Executive Order.

Congress has belittled this president and refused to roll up their sleeves and get to work solving this nation's problems. This is the Congress of "no" and have blocked any positive actions that would benefit the American people.

No matter your party affiliation, look in the mirror as the Senate and the House are responsible for writing and passing legislation. So the buck stops with you.

Our infrastructure is crumbling, our people are out-of-work, our economy has been relocated to overseas, and we are losing our "super power" status. If you and your colleagues really cared about this country, they would step up and work toward creating positive solutions. A strong workforce pays a LOT of taxes and generates a strong economy. I learned in high school how our government works and also "No Excuses Just Results," and this is the Congress of "no results at all; just excuses." This country is hurting and you are part of the problem along with every one of your close-minded buddies in DC. Get to work!
