COUNTY: Raises defy all reason

It amazes me to watch what happens when good conservative people become government leaders. I'll bet not one of the commissioners would lay off a worker in their business and decide to take the money saved and just spread it around, but they will take taxpayer money and spread it around like it doesn't matter.

Real estate values have plummeted but taxes have gone up. We have 12 percent unemployment. City, county and NIC employees received increases in their pay.

We are in trouble locally and nationally because government cannot or will not quit spending more than we have. We just raise taxes.

We do not have money printing presses in our homes; when expenses go up, we cut back our expenses. Most of us do not have cost of living increases built into our paychecks - unless we work for some government entity.

Wake up. Lower taxes by controlling expenses. We cannot afford the increased collection of more and more tax dollars.

How many times do we have to replace you to get leaders willing to make needed changes and make government more efficient and accountable to taxpayers, the people you work for?
