Arlene Kay Hovingh, 55
Arlene Kay Hovingh joined her beloved mother, Lois Hovingh, in the kingdom of God on Monday, Sept. 1, 2011. She will be greatly missed by her dearly loved children Melissa Michelle Purdie, 28, and Jackson James Purdie, 25; grandson Shayden; twin sister Marlene; father James Hovingh; and two brothers. She will also be missed by many friends and loved ones.
Mother, the best description and the only words which paints the picture of her life. She gave true meaning to the words "unconditional love." If there was ever a person who truly cared without expecting something in return, this was her. Dedicated solely to her children and providing the means for them to succeed in life, she taught them faith only through her own walk with God. She taught them love only by laying her own life down daily for the well-being of them. "Selfless" as a child, she was the girl who brought home every stray animal only because she truly cared, and as she grew she never lost that. She never hesitated taking someone into her own home who had less than she did at the time. Children who lacked love from their own home, she provided with a loving heart. Mother, she was this to many. A woman of God, a walk of faith. A shoulder to lean on, a good laugh when one was needed. A woman fit to raise a boy to a man, and her princess from a girl to a strong woman. She was a free spirit, to us she was like love, and the care to our ever growing souls. Looking down on her legacy, the lives she impacted, and the hearts she has touched. That she smiles for all the love that she freely gave and knows she is truly, deeply loved in return. She will be greatly missed.
Her farewell service for all will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 10, 2011 at Coeur d'Alene City Park.
