TRAGEDY: This was no accident

| October 30, 2011 10:00 PM

They say a man was hunting with his son. After hunting, while loading his rifle in the truck, the rifle ACCIDENTALLY discharged, hit his son and killed him. Fore more than 40 years, I have been asking people to give me a good example of an accident. I have not heard one yet. In every case it came down to someone's negligence. In my opinion, there is no such thing as an ACCIDENT!

When finished with hunting, it is common practice to point the muzzle toward the ground and unload the firearm before stowing it in a truck. Also, why didn't the rifle's safety work.

No doubt, it is horribly tragic what happened to this innocent young man. I feel so sorry for the family's great loss.

But, if there was no ACCIDENT, it should be prosecuted as a homicide.
