Rita Cramer, 91

| October 27, 2011 10:00 PM

Rita Cramer, 91, passed away Oct. 18, 2011, in Coeur d'Alene. Rita resided in Coeur d'Alene for 35 years. She was born Aug. 6, 1920, in Salem, Mass., to Eva and Herbert Bryson.

Rita Ann grew up and was educated in Salem. She married Donald Joseph Burgoyne in her early 20s and they had two children together - a son, Robert Donald Burgoyne and a daughter, Nancy A. Burgoyne.

The family moved in 1945 to Southern California because winters on the east coast were too harsh on her husband. When her husband Donald passed away at 42 due to heart failure Rita went to work at Aerojet General Space Industry.

Rita belonged to Coeur d'Alene Assembly of God Church for more than 30 years and was head of the church's "Prayer Chain" - which she served faithfully. Rita also served as past president of the Coeur d'Alene Rambling Rover's Club and was a member of the Ponderosa ladies 9 hole golf.

She loved gardening and was an avid knitter - making and donating mega knit hats to missionaries, local elementary schools and lap-robe type to Children's Village plus local nursing homes. She had a zest for life and loved people unconditionally.

Rita is survived by her daughter, Nancy Trusty of Coeur d'Alene and by her granddaughter, Tammy Carlile of Richland, Wash.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, 2011, at the Coeur d'Alene Assembly of God. Yates Funeral Homes has been entrusted with the care of final arrangements. Please visit Rita's online memorial at www.yatesfuneralhomes.com. Her final resting place will be at Riverview Cemetery.
