HAYDEN: Mayor, where are you?
As elections are fast approaching, we see local and national forums and debates announced. We are offered the opportunity to see the candidates and hear what they have to say. We hear them speak of their past contributions to the people, as well as their plans for our better tomorrow. This is how we make an educated decision as we go to the polls this fall.
With that said, I find it discouraging that Hayden Mayor McIntire will not offer us this opportunity. His opposition, Nancy Lowery, has made it clear that she is not only willing, but eager, to meet him in a public setting to discuss their ideas, morals and plans for the city of Hayden.
She has placed herself in the public eye recently doing flash campaigns, talking to local business owners and representing the city at major events. When Governor Otter came to town for the KTEC groundbreaking Nancy Lowery was the only city representative from Hayden. Mayor McIntire is not available to publicly debate Lowery, to discuss his vision for the city in the public eye or even to represent the city when our very governor comes to town. Is he going to be available to perform the duties of mayor?
Nancy Lowery has been an advocate for progress in Hayden for years. She actively listens to the concerns of the people and seeks change that improves our community. I appreciate her public campaign and I look forward to seeing her in office.
