Joseph Anthony "Papa Joe" Pennazoli, 69

A legend in his own time: passed peacefully Saturday, Oct. 8, 2011, at age 69, surrounded by loved ones. He was born in Alexandria, Va., on April 21, 1942, to Alice Marie Blevins-Pennazoli-Shelton and Joseph Gabriel Pennazoli.

And God said, "Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so."

His Love for God and family was what was most important to him. He was very devoted to all of us. He was a loving grandfather with a jolly laugh. He appreciated gardening, poker, fishing, camping, traveling and was a Seattle Mariners and Seahawk enthusiast.

He was a man of many trades and many talents but, found traveling as a long-haul trucker memorable.

He is survived by his sister, Antoinette Kinder; nephew John Kinder; his sons, Anthony Pennazoli and Gary Anderson; daughters Theresa Heiderscheidt, Regina Wood, Alice Pennazoli, Annette Moorman and Rebecca Pennazoli.

Grandchildren are Audrianna, Andrew, Kayla, Kendall, Kelsey and Alysha Olson. He had a great-grandchild, Ethan Wood-Hopper. Step-children are Cathy Cress, Julie miller, Shawn McClure, Danny Barzee and Cyndi Scott; and 13 step-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Pennazoli; mother Alice Blevins-Pennazoli-Shelton and wonderful wife Maxine Barzee.

We would like to thank Josh and Brenda Romans for all the love and care they gave with our father. We will have a celebration of his life on a later date.
