SIGNS: Restaurant violates city code
Recently Burger King (BK) in Post Falls opened with total disregard for the city of Post Falls sign code. I myself own a business in Post Falls and try to comply with all of the city's rules and regulations. I am purposely not mentioning my business name because I feel this is not the proper place to promote my business. I feel that my business will be just fine with the addition of a new competitor, and I am not just complaining about them.
Today, Oct. 10, I have counted 20 signs placed by BK that are in violation of city code. I think there are more but I am unaware of these. Violations include: Offsite signage (signs on other people's property), signs on city of Post Falls property, signs placed without permission on city property and possibly more that I am unaware of. Some of these signs are blocking the view of traffic at high traffic intersections.
This blatant disregard of city sign code is unacceptable. If BK didn't know, they should have known the sign code. The city of Post Falls is doing what they can to correct this violation; however, the damage will be done to local businesses by the time that happens. Now I am not trying to fault the city on this issue, I am just trying to point out that BK's disregard for the law is over the top.
