Murland Bell, 60
Murland Vilas Bell, 60, was born Jan. 27, 1951, in Rexburg to Vilas Cur Bell and Irene Clair Weekes Bell, the fourth child of eight children. He unexpectedly passed away Oct. 5, 2011, in Coeur d'Alene.
Murland grew up in Tetonia, Idaho, and graduated from Teton High. At age 19 he met his wife and sweetheart, Carrie Taylor (17) at a dance in Jackson, Wyo., where they were both working that summer. They married two years later in the Salt Lake LDS Temple for time and all eternity. Murland had attended Ricks College, and together they attended Utah State University. He graduated in 1974 from USU with a degree in German.
Over the years, seven children blessed their home. After living in a variety of places, Murland and his family settled in Post Falls. Murland worked hard to provide for his family. For the last several years, he worked as a computer technician at DAL Computers in Hayden. He loved his job and the people he worked for and with.
Murland is survived by his wife, Carrie Taylor Bell, their seven children: Joseph (Angie), David (Dan), Emily (Garrison) Gammell, Daniel (Karen), Lucy (Micah) Miller, Vilas, and Michael, seven grandchildren; and his siblings: Vaughn (Faye), DonnaLee Smith, LaRene (Dick) Hurst, LaPreal (Lester) Henman, Marie Williams, Thad (Teresa), and John.
Murland was a kind, sensitive, loving husband and father. He was adored by his wife, children, and grandchildren, and he deeply loved his family. Murland and Carrie had just celebrated their 39th anniversary in September. They were best friends and sweethearts.
Murland was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and he had a deep and abiding love for the Savior, whom he said was his hero.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Nov. 5, 2011, at the LDS Chapel located at 16th and Greensferry, in Post Falls. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to his wife and sons still living at home: Carrie Bell, 605 E. 15th Ave., Post Falls, ID, 83854.
