MEDICARE: Keep your eyes open

Persons on Medicare need to check their statements carefully. I found three false physician charges within the last year. Medicare is eager to hear about these. Remember, that these charges go against your account.
A $21,000 charge was made on my husband's account for a supposed three-day hospitalization in San Antonio; the outcome proved the real patient's name was the same as my husband's except for the middle initial.
In another situation, an unknown doctor tacked a small Medicare charge onto my real doctor's charge in Bakersfield! These errors can easily be overlooked unless we are vigilant.
