KTEC: Kudos to NIC, as well
Congratulations to the community business leaders who along with the Meyer family, the three school districts and of course the voters, have made it possible for the KTEC facility to begin its construction.
I think it would also be appropriate to thank the administrative staff of NIC and Riverbend Professional Technical Academy for having the vision in 1999 to start a pilot program for high school juniors and seniors to fill the needs of our students who were interested in the professional/technical aspects of education. The courses offered then were engineering/construction, computer networking and health occupations. RPTA has since expanded to include automotive technology, computer repair and welding technology, which will be offered at the new KTEC facility. Thank you, Brad Murray and NIC, for the vision you had to provide a "jump start" for KTEC.
