JOBS: All together, let's get bill passed
OK, picture this if you will. You are in water over your head and you're doing the dog paddle. No matter how hard you paddle, you are still in water over your head. Can you stop to do anything else?
We have become a nation of dog paddlers. We cannot stop and take time to be a good parent, a good child, a good friend or neighbor. We can't volunteer, we can't stop to smell the roses, we can't spend quality time with our family, we simply continue to dogpaddle.
Every minute of every day we are trying to figure out how to keep our heads above water. How will I pay the mortgage, will I be able to keep my power on this winter, how will I keep my family fed. The doctor? Forget it. I can't get sick! Retirement? Not an option! I will work until I die.
From day one of President Obama's term, the Republican Congress has vowed to do one thing, see to it that Obama is a one-term president! You and I sent them to Congress to do a job, work for the good of the people. Our president has done everything within his power to compromise with the Republican Congress. If the Republicans say the color is yellow and the Democrats say the color is blue, Obama will look at all the options, take the best of the yellow and blue and say, "OK, the color is green, can we all agree on that?"
No. Now the Republicans say, we changed our mind - the color is now purple!
I know that's kind of a simple analogy but it is true. Regardless of whether the president adopts a Democratic or a Republican idea, if he supports it, the Republicans don't! We are paying their salaries! We sent them to do a job and they are not doing it! They have done nothing but political posturing and gamesmanship, obstructing at every turn. How long would you last at your job if you sat on your hands and did nothing?
The Jobs bill needs to be passed - NOW! Tell your congressmen to get their hands out from under their butts, and do the job they were sent there to do. Pass the jobs bill and give us some hope that there is a future, give us a fighting chance to survive.
You can only dog paddle for a certain period of time before you go under and we are exhausted!
