ANIMALS: Need better care at KHS

I agree with Erin Cooper and Erin Rundell's letter about animal suffering and the Humane Society in the Sept. 21 paper.

I experienced the Humane Society situation myself. It was very poorly run and very unkempt. Animals were in unclean housing and many were ill.

They (employees) need to show more care and concerns for the animals. Most of the time they are traumatized and very unhappy and scared. They don't want to be there either.

I wanted to volunteer too but I know I couldn't handle the lack of care and sympathy not given to the animals. The drivers of Animal Control trucks are all just as bad in humane care.

Why are they working in Animal Control and Humane Society if they don't love and enjoy their jobs? They should watch "Animal Planet." Maybe they all could learn some "bedside manners."
