Beverly's Restaurant wins
2011 People's Choice award
COEUR d'ALENE - Beverly's Restaurant has won the 2011 People's Choice award from Epicurean Delight.
Beverly's chef Tyler Schwenk created a Chilean sea bass dish at the Epicurean Delight fundraiser gala, held recently at the Spokane Convention Center to benefit the Inland Northwest Blood Center.
More than 1,100 people attended the event.
"It was an amazing night, and we're honored to have played a part," he said.
Schwenk, the head chef at Beverly's, once served as chef of an ocean-going luxury yacht.
He is known for cooking with fresh ingredients, grown as close to home as possible.
Beverly's Restaurant, located on the seventh floor of The Coeur d'Alene Resort, also received an award for longtime participation in Epicurean Delight.
Beverly's has participated every year for 30 years, beginning with executive chef Rod Jessick's Caesar salad at the inaugural event. That salad is still on the menu at Beverly's today.
Proceeds will help the INBC collect from 200 volunteer donors each day to meet the demand of more than 35 regional medical facilities.
