Members of the congressional supercommittee charged with trimming $1.2 trillion from the nation's debt spent their final hours together casting blame over why they failed in their mission, according to the Washington Post.
Staff-level discussions on Sunday centered on how to publicly acknowledge the lawmakers would not meet the Wednesday deadline to make a deal.
