STAR: None brighter than Vaughn

Thank you for your story on Glenn Vaughn, a bright star of volunteerism in Idaho. Glenn is Coeur d'Alene's treasure and we're lucky to have such a man in our community. Who returns to college for a master's degree in counseling just for the opportunity to help his neighbors as a volunteer after his day job? I was speechless when he told me this a decade ago.

As a reporter, I had interviewed many giving, inspirational people in our community and I think of them often when I read about the discontents and naysayers. They need to stop by the Dirne Community Health Center or Vaughn's Car Restoration and get to know Glenn. He's a down-to-Earth human being - the guy next door - with a heart of gold. Glenn is my role model and I'm proud to call him my friend.

Thanks Glenn for taking care of the people of Coeur d'Alene. You truly are Idaho's Brightest Star.
