Upper Twin Lake docks to be removed

The docks at Upper Twin Lake public boat launch will be removed next Tuesday, according to the Kootenai County Parks and Waterways.

New docks will be installed in the spring of 2012.

The new docks, including a new aluminum gangway and bulkhead, will cost $25,000. The funds come from boat launch user fees, not tax dollars, the county said.

The boat launch docks will be removed annually for winter storage starting next year.

Upper Twin Lake typically freezes by December or January so the boat launch can't be used, the county said.
