Carol L. Benjamin, 75

Carol Benjamin passed away peacefully Nov. 17, 2011, at the Hospice House of North Idaho, after a short battle with cancer.

Carol was born May 25, 1936, in Lakota, N.D., the only child of Leo and Alma Voiten. Carol and her parents moved to Coeur d'Alene when Carol was 3. Carol grew up in Coeur d'Alene and graduated from high school in 1954, and went to work for Kaiser Aluminum in the Spokane Valley. Carol married her childhood sweetheart, Douglas, in 1958 and they lived in nearly every state in the west. Carol loved to travel.

Carol leaves her husband, Douglas, of 53 years at home and her son, Jeffrey, of Salt Lake City. Carol's proudest moments were the birth of her son and the birth of her granddaughter.

At Carol's request there will only be graveside services. Yates Funeral Home is entrusted with the care of final arrangements.
