SPEED: It's going to kill someone here

| November 13, 2011 9:00 PM

I live in the area of Silverwood Theme Park and I am at a loss as to why the speed limit is still 65 mph considering all the Highway 95 construction up this way. Usually in the Coeur d'Alene area, the speed limit is way too slow for the amount of work being done during construction. In this case it is way too excessive.

With snow on the horizon, it would benefit the citizens of Idaho to have this section of the road be a slower speed. I have seen several close calls with the belly dumper trucks and have heard of many others from friends and family who also live in the area. We all know this is a very dangerous stretch of highway just because of all the congestion associated with the theme park.

I understand the need for the road work but it just makes sense to slow down traffic in that area. It would break my heart for anyone to lose a loved one because of poor planning at the hands of the Idaho Department of Transportation. I hear enough ambulances out this way.
