MCEUEN: Election clarified opinion

Without question it came out loud and clear in the vote: The people who pay taxes in Coeur d'Alene and others do not want to spend their dollars, $40 to 50 million, on a remake of McEuen Field that would take away the usefulness to the public of baseball and boating.

Mae McEuen is smiling up there; now Mayor Sandi Bloem will not hang on like a stubborn mule; she will save the city the $15,000 cost of a public vote and let the obvious wishes of the people she works for take precedence.

Congratulations to Edinger, Gookin and Adams.
