VETERANS: See you today in Hayden
Today at 10 a.m. the city of Hayden will be honoring all the veterans of America. They will start the early morning with a parade to honor two men who sacrificed all, Sgt. Nathan Beyers and Spc. Nick Newby. Both of these brave soldiers were killed by a roadside bomb while stationed in Bagdad just outside Camp Victory.
Following the parade there will be a ceremony in the PFC Robert J. Gordon Veterans Plaza at Hayden City Hall naming the Distinguished Veteran of the Year. I know that the community pulled together and provided a wonderful procession when these heroes came home in July. Tim, Sonja and Tyler Beyers from Littleton, Colo., will be here to honor their son and brother. They will also be celebrating Sgt. Nate and Vanessa Beyers' baby girl's first birthday which is on Nov. 11. She is the only baby born on Veterans Day during the year-long deployment; what a way to honor a hero.
Let's show the soldiers and the families how proud and thankful we are. Please join me along with my American hero at the city of Hayden this morning at 10.
