LOWERY: Strong leader needed now

Selecting a mayor is not a popularity contest; it is an opportunity to hire the right person for the job. Yes, Ron McIntire is a very nice man and he has done a lot for the community. Nancy Lowery is also very nice and is doing a lot for the community. So what is the difference? Nancy's passion, energy and commitment!

The city is facing some tough times ahead with shrinking revenue and increased need for services. Nancy is ready and willing to take on that challenge. Is Ron? Not even he was sure. For months he said he hadn't decided if he wanted to serve another term as mayor. Then at five minutes before the filing deadline, Ron submitted the paperwork to run. Why did he wait until the last minute? He couldn't make up his mind? I don't know the answer, but I do know that Nancy has no doubt and no hesitation in her commitment. Yes, Ron is very nice and has done a lot for the city, but the city needs a strong leader who is definite about their desire to serve the city and has the energy and commitment to tackle the tough issues. Thank Ron for his past service, but vote for Nancy for the future.
