LOWERY: Direct yet sincere

I recently hosted a small gathering in my home of friends and neighbors to meet and hear Hayden mayoral candidate Nancy Lowery speak. This was not a fundraiser or "rah rah" gathering, rather an opportunity to hear first hand from the woman seeking to secure this office. She spoke eloquently regarding her position, and answered all questions from those in attendance. Many told me later, that they found her direct and sincere manner a refreshing change from the usual political speak. One woman even told me that while she had not fully agreed with all Nancy's positions, that she would happily take a yard sign, place in her yard, and encourage all her friends to review Nancy's webpage and positions. She added that, Nancy "has my vote" based on her clear and direct answers, and her willingness to be present and engaged in city issues.

I was proud to be a small part of the political process that makes our country great. I wish Nancy good luck on election day, and encourage everyone to get out and vote on Nov. 8.
