CHS: Champs on field, stage

Hats off to Coeur d'Alene High School! At the very same time, they fielded a football team of about 60 student players and team workers, who played with passion against arch rival Lake City to the tune of a 62-21 blowout, while the school fielded a second team of just over 60 thespians who played with equal passion, a memorable performance of Les Miserables.

Coach Shawn Amos and drama teacher Jared Helm are to be commended for teaching such perfection and inspiring such commitments. Both performances are not only best in class for the state, but possibly for the whole Northwest. The play will go on, in one case to the state championships, but for Les Miserables, only two more performances remain this week: tonight and Saturday at 7 p.m. Wow.
