LaMARR: Building a better Hayden

| November 2, 2011 10:00 PM

Tim Timmins is a builder (Eagle Ridge Builders) with strong lobbying ties to the NIBCA, the State Builders Association and Contractors board. The NIBCA is a trade association dedicated primarily to PROMOTING and PROTECTING the local building industry.

Mr. Timmins stated that Hayden's Impact fees are too high and nobody wants to build here. On the contrary, building in Hayden has remained steady. These fees are used to fund the impact of growth on roads, parks and other services. The alternative for funding new growth is higher property taxes. In these economic times, we need to keep our property taxes low so that residents can better afford to live in our wonderful town of Hayden. Coeur d'Alene's impact fees are lower than Hayden; however, the property tax rate is four times higher than Hayden.

Mr. Timmins also made a statement that he was against the Hayden Revitalization project. WHY? I believe his agenda will be to promote and protect the building industry, not Hayden residents.

Mr. LaMarr is an honest, hardworking citizen with no political ties or hidden agenda. He would like to see Hayden remain a safe place for families and help our businesses remain in the area and prosper. I recommend you vote for Kris LaMarr, Seat No. 1, especially if you want someone who cares about Hayden and ALL its improvements and citizens.
