Roni Marie (Miller) Russell, age 41, of Hayden, moved to Heaven on May 27, 2011. Roni was a treasure that will be greatly missed by her family, friends and all who truly knew her heart. Her two great passions in this earth were her faith and her family. Roni devoted many hours to inspiring those around her with her enthusiastic faith. Where Roni was, there was life and laughter; compassion and mercy; and the most extraordinary display of vitality. She loved adventure and pushing life to its limits, while balancing that with her pleasure in meeting the needs of those surrounding her and being there for her family. She will forever be in the hearts of those who had the incredible privilege of knowing and loving her.

Born in Concord, Calif., on Aug. 18, 1969, Roni Russell spent her early years in Medford, Ore., before moving to Mt. Vernon at the age of 9. She graduated with top honors from Mt. Vernon High School in 1987, followed by her enrollment at Oregon State University. Some of her proudest career endeavors included working for the Grant County District Attorney's office and working alongside her husband at JUB Engineers.

In addition, Roni was an extraordinary chef who delighted her family and friends with culinary masterpieces. She loved the warm weather, spending time tending her yard and thoroughly enjoyed all flowers. Her home was always filled with the fragrance of fresh flowers. Roni enjoyed trying new adventures and visiting tropical locations. She had a merciful heart of compassion that eagerly and joyfully, with quiet humility, noticed and served those in need.

She is survived by her loving husband, Geremy Russell of Hayden; free-spirited son, Luke Palmer of John Day, Ore.; beautiful daughters, Samantha Palmer and Taylor Russell of Hayden; step-sons, Brandon and Levi Russell of Hayden; step-daughter, Brielle Russell of Hayden; devoted parents, Don and Sharon Miller of Mt. Vernon; brother Robert Miller and wife April of Milton Freewater, Ore.; grandfather, Bob Miller of Milton Freewater; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; many nieces and nephews that adored their Aunt Roni and a wealth of friends that will forever be increased by having been a part of her life.

A celebration of Roni's life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 4, at New Life Community Church, 6068 W. Hayden Ave in Rathdrum. Please visit Roni's memorial and sign her online guest book at www.yatesfuneralhomes.com.
