All-class reunion set for leaders
In honor of its 25th anniversary, Leadership Coeur d'Alene has scheduled an "all class" reunion for former class participants.
The event is scheduled for Thursday, June 16 from 5-8 p.m. at Elk Point, 4176 E. Potlatch Hill Road. Food and beverages will be provided, and there is a suggested minimum $20 donation to attend. Proceeds will be distributed among four local nonprofit organizations.
Leadership Coeur d'Alene is a program that was started by the Coeur d'Alene Chamber of Commerce in 1985. Each year the program identifies two-dozen individuals to receive intensive monthly training designed to develop knowledge and understanding of the local community. Participants meet and exchange ideas with local leaders from a variety of industries and are encouraged to pursue their own leadership roles in the community.
"For both lifelong residents and the recently arrived, the Leadership Coeur d'Alene program is an immersion in the people, places and events that shape our community," said Dennis Davis of Witherspoon-Kelley
a former participant in Leadership Coeur d'Alene.
"In the 15 years since participating, I have continually crossed paths in the community with my Leadership Coeur d'Alene classmates. It has helped me forge career and lifelong associations. This is a terrific leadership program."
The reunion has been themed, "25 Years of Best of the Best," a term frequently used in the Leadership Coeur d'Alene program to identify participants' favorite experiences.
Programs earmarked to receive proceeds from the event include the Toni Sayler Leadership Coeur d'Alene Scholarship Fund, the Food Bank and Community Action Partnership, the Kootenai County Police and Fire Memorial Foundation, and St. Vincent de Paul's Transitional Housing Program.
