TWIN FALLS (AP) - A trial date has been set for a southern Idaho man charged with fleeing police during an attempted traffic stop in April.

Police in Twin Falls say 40-year-old Lee Randall Fife fled a traffic stop, became cornered on a dead-end street and was shot as he drove toward a patrol car. He has pleaded not guilty to felony charges of aggravated assault, aggravated battery and eluding officers.

On Monday, Fifth District Court Judge G. Richard Bevan scheduled a trial to start on Sept. 13.

The Times-News reports that Fife remains jailed on $50,000 bond.

The officer involved in the April 5 shootout, Isaiah Day, returned to work on April 18 after being placed on administrative leave in the wake of the incident.
