Bulletin: Tubbs Hill pulled from McEuen vision

| May 24, 2011 4:56 PM

Tonight's meeting at Woodland Middle School saw some fireworks right off the bat. Spurred by a motion from Council Chair Ron Edinger, the council unanimously removed Tubbs Hill from consideration as part of the McEuen Park proposal.

That move was greeted loudly by a partisan crowd waving signs saying PUBLIC VOTE and SAVE McEuen. Edinger, who stated right up front that he opposed the McEuen plan as presented tonight, failed on his subsequent motions, however: His call to remove the Third Street boat launch and the Legion ball fields from the plan both died for lack of a second.

More than 300 people were there, and I'll share more color in just a few moments. — Mike Patrick
