| May 23, 2011 10:00 PM

Bobby L. Wisdom, of Post Falls, passed away May 20, 2011. He was born July 28, 1942, in Paris, Ark. Bob was the middle son of John and Hermoin Wisdom, both deceased. Bob passed peacefully with his loving and devoted wife Carole and family members by his side. Bob fought a long and courageous three-year battle with cancer.

He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years Carole and his brothers John (and Marlene) Wisdom of Salinas, Calif., and Bill (and Sheila) Wisdom of Cameron Park, Calif. Bob has six children, several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren who will miss him tremendously.

Bob loved to be outdoors. Every chance he had he was either fishing, hunting, rafting, riding his quad or camping. Meanwhile, his wife Carole was busy shopping to pass the time until they were together again.

Prior to his death, his brother Bill and grandson Josh were able to fulfill a request made by Bob. They resurrected Ole John Bear, a chainsaw-carved statue that was put up in memory of his father. It brought a smile to his face knowing the bear was back up for the community to enjoy.

Bob served in the Navy for four years and was a volunteer for the Susanville, Calif., Police Department.

He worked at Fairchild Air Force Base as a superintendent to the hospital steam plant. He retired in 1997.

His many friends, family and neighbors will dearly miss him. Bob will be remembered for his love of the outdoors, his compassion and stubbornness.

In lieu of a service, his family will hold a celebration to honor him in June at his home in Post Falls.
