RATHDRUM - A 15-year-old male was transported to Kootenai Medical Center with a cut to his head after he collided with a vehicle on his bicycle Thursday morning.
The teen was northbound on Stevens Street at Pine heading to school at 7:40 a.m. when he collided with a pickup driven by a 46-year-old Rathdrum woman, according to Rathdrum Police.
"The male was accelerating and changing gears, and in doing so, failed to stop at the northbound stop sign," a police press release said.
As he entered the intersection, he struck the side of the pickup headed west on Pine.
The pickup sustained moderate damage on the driver's side. The bicycle sustained minor damage.
Speed was not a factor, police said. No charges were filed.
