Gookin: City Council run a possibility

Over on Facebook former Coeur d’Alene City Councilman Dave Walker asked if Dan Gookin is planning to announce his council candidacy. So we asked Dan and here’s how he replied:

If I were to run again in the Fall, an announcement would be more appropriately made in a mid-summer time frame, say August.

I'm still singed by the nasty campaign against me in 2009. Given the innuendo cast in the recent SD271 Trustee race, I doubt whether anyone is eager now to get into the political fray. Still, in my opinion, the City Council remains arrogant and dismissive of a great portion of the public, not to mention their neglectful attitude toward fiscal responsibility.

There is no way I can support the status quo, so I will be active in the fall promoting change on the City Council. Whether that's as a candidate or an enthusiastic supporter still remains to be seen. But I have not ruled out another run.
