NIC women move up to 11th after 3 rounds
North Idaho chipped 11 strokes off its second day score to move into 11th place Wednesday after the third day of the NJCAA women's golf tournament at LPGA International Golf Club in Daytona Beach, Fla.
Host Daytona State College holds a 20-stroke lead headed into today's final round.
"We shot a little better than on Tuesday," NIC assistant coach Randy Boswell said.
Freshman Makena Schevenius shot a 92, Emily Thorud 93 for NIC on Wednesday.
"I'm really proud of Makena," Boswell said. "She's only been playing a couple of years. She has been plugging along all week.
"The girls were happy to have moved up a spot, but Columbus State only trails us by seven shots," he added.
