Coeur d'Alene band Goodnight Venus to perform

COEUR d'ALENE - Two of the region's hottest bands will perform Thursday night at Mik's, formerly Mik-N-Mac's, 406 N. 4th St., Coeur d'Alene.

Goodnight Venus, headed by Coeur d'Alene's Darin Schaffer, will be joined by Flying Mammals from Spokane.

Performing all original songs, Goodnight Venus also features former Black Happy drummer Scott Jessick and bassist Tony Farris.

Schaffer describes the sounds of Goodnight Venus as "soft and rough, loud and soft, sweet and salty." Composer and pianist Brian Crain referred to the group this way: "Jane's Addiction meets Where the Wild Things Are."
