Franc Cox, 67

| May 17, 2011 10:00 PM

Franc Cox, 67, died Saturday, May 14, 2011, from a motorcycle accident in Wallace. Franc was born April 19, 1944, in Tacoma, Wash. Franc was the son of Gilbert and Lillian (Sawyer) Cox.

Father, grandfather, uncle, brother and friend. He joined the U.S. Army right out of school spending several years serving his country. The car business was his occupation of choice. Whether selling, managing, detailing or any other task, he gave it his all. He spent many years in the Seattle area, then Yakima before settling in North Idaho.

In recent years he enjoyed working at Dave Smith Motors and all of the people he worked with there he considered like family. He loved living in North Idaho and exploring the back roads and ATV trails. Hunting, fishing, jeeps, ATV's, motorcycles and bicycles were all hobbies he enjoyed. He was a smiling face always looking for a buddy to enjoy his hobbies with. He was a member of the North Idaho ATV Club and truly enjoyed the friendships made there.

The real love of his life were his two grandchildren. He enjoyed spending time teaching them to fish and to love the outdoors as much as he did. He really enjoyed watching them play sports. They will always remember the campouts and ATV riding they enjoyed with "Frankiepoo" as they would jokingly call him.

All who knew Franc, knew that he lived life 100 mph in the fast lane, and he did so right up to the end. Always with a joke to brighten the day, his presence will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Franc is survived by one son, Shane and his spouse Jewel Cox of Yakima, Wash.; two grandchildren, Shaina and Shelby; one brother, Billie "Bill" E. and his spouse Lynn Cox of Yakima; one sister, Sharon Sprouffske and her significant other Mac McDonald of Tacoma, Wash.; three nephews, Brian Cox, Kris Cox and Darin Sprouffske; and one niece, Lynnel Miller.

Franc was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Monica Cox and one son, Jonny Cox.

Cremation was held and a celebration of Franc's life will be announced at a later date.
