OBAMA: Won where Bush lost
Craig Kerwin's letter to the editor Friday, May 6 regarding the killing of Osama Bin Laden exhibits a great deal of selective historical amnesia. Much of what our country has learned this week contradicts what George W. Bush said March 3, 2002.
The former president declared that tracking Bin Laden was of little or no interest to him. That Bin Laden was not the center of our command structure and that he had been "marginalized." Apparently while all this may have been "true" of the Bush administration it was not true of the Obama administration.
Mr. Kerwin has underestimated the tenacity and determination of President Obama. I would suggest to Mr. Kerwin that the Obama administration has pushed back harder against Pakistan than the Bush administration ever did.
If Bin Laden's death is in our national security interest then President Obama succeeded where Bush failed. Ya know just sayin'.
