Worn-out flags sought by Scouts

Rathdrum Girl Scout Troop 2498 will be collecting used, torn and worn American and Idaho State flags that cannot be flown any longer. Troop leader Chris Monroe teaches flag etiquette to Girl Scouts throughout the year. Her troop teaches patriotism and respect in a flag retirement class.

They will be collecting flags starting Sunday through May 31. Drop-off bins have been set up at Stein's Family Foods in Rathdrum during store hours and at the Northern Lakes Fire Department from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
