PF: Humphreys key to success
Let me start by saying a number of misstatements have been sent out by mail about budgets, salaries and bureaucrats. I want to set the record straight. The Post Falls Highway District works with an annual budget of about $4 million. The commissioners' salary is only $600 per month and the chairman earns $750 month. They keep our community operating as they channel our budget dollars to the huge undertaking of snow removal and maintenance of both roads and equipment. For large road projects, they have to apply to the federal government for funds and wait years for approval before building the project. Only with years of experience, knowing who, when and where to talk to, do they get federal money.
The main source of our local budget is from fuel tax, not just property taxes. They are not connected to any union.
You, as the residents of the P.F.H.D., have Lynn Humphreys, the person who has this knowledge and experience as he has been chairman of the District for 16 years, but has lived and worked in this community more than 61 years. He knows the area and the good people he has served so well. What will happen if we let someone take over who has only been to one Post Falls Highway District meeting since moving here a few years ago?
Remember, anyone who lives in any part of the Post Falls Highway District is eligible to vote in this election. Let's all re-elect Lynn Humphreys.
