LAKES: Fountain springs eternal
In 1986, I moved to Coeur d'Alene from Bonners Ferry to oversee the accounting for Northwest Timber, a division of W-I Forest Products. Shortly after taking this position, I hired a young woman, Diane Fountain, who had previous industry experience with Diamond International. From the moment Diane first started working for me, I recognized her to be someone who would do the work of two people with one hand tied behind her back. (Since hiring Diane, this has been the yardstick to which every one of my new hires has been judged.)
When Northwest Timber finally succumbed to the death of timber industries, I moved on to Empire Airlines, and eventually a multi-national company. Diane was promptly hired by Crown Pacific. "Back in the day," whether the mill was owned by an affiliate company or not, we were all brothers and sisters in the industry.
Diane Fountain has been a colleague and a friend of mine for nearly 25 years. Her integrity is unmatched. As North Idaho natives, we understand there is a gentle balance between progress and maintaining values we hold dear. With regard to our local roads, we want and need solid infrastructures, but we need it without the waste of unnecessary overhead and taxes.
Diane Fountain is you. She is me. She is every one of us in Coeur d'Alene who watch our budgets while wanting the best in our lives - and our roads. With an ethical mindset, she will work hard to safeguard your interests.
You can ensure fiscal responsibility in Lakes Highway District by voting for Diane.
