MERS: How it impacts you

Re: Saturday's article about MERS, the true horror of MERS is not that it affects the legitimacy of foreclosures, it is that it affects every homeowner and title in the state.

Think this through, if they cannot stand with clear title to foreclose, they cannot stand and deliver clear title at sale, or payoff.

MERS is a creature of the Mortgage Banking and the Title industries. They are both in on the game.

Read your insurance policy, although you have none. All you have is a commitment to title, not the actual insurance policy. So check out your exceptions, especially if you bought that house off the courthouse steps.

Ouch. Hurts, doesn't it?

So if no one can deliver clear title and there is no insurance, you are not buying anything.

The more important question though is why?

It is not about foreclosures. It is about your title.
